Do you take my insurance?

I no longer work with health insurance companies.  Advekit, my billing partner, can verify any out-of-network benefits on your plan and give you an estimate of therapy costs.

What does therapy cost?

Sessions with Michele are $150 per therapy hour.  A billing service, Advekit, is available to help you use any out-of-network benefits your health insurance plan might offer. This can save many clients a significant percentage of session fees.

When are sessions offered?

Tuesday, Friday: daytime and evening sessions

Saturday: daytime sessions

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a powerful therapy that helps our brains and nervous systems make sense of traumatic or painful memories that are still active our daily lives.  EMDR does not erase memories.  Instead, it reduces our emotional reactivity to memories, allowing us greater use of CHOICE in our responses.

What is CBT?

Most of us know what we want to change in our lives but we don't know HOW to change it.  That's where CBT comes in.  Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps people change their lives by examining patterns of thoughts, emotions, and actions.  When we are aware of how our thoughts about the world affect our moods and the ways we interact with other people, we can begin to make the changes we want.  Doing this isn't always easy, but it's so worth it!

Is therapy going to challenge my faith?

Simply put: No!  This is a common and understandable concern about counseling and psychotherapy.  It's my job as your therapist to respect your views and help you work within them.  Please call me with any concerns you have; I'm happy to talk with you.

Do you see couples or kids?

Sadly, no.  While counseling can benefit people of almost any age, I work with individual adults aged 18 years and up.  You may email me if you're seeking help for someone younger or for couples counseling; I will do my best to help you find another experienced therapist in the area.
